I am a left shooter and just got assigned for m82 training in the reserves, is that a problem with the m82?

The side you shoot from is dictated by the leading or dominant eye, You can learn to shoot by practice left or rite. I am left handed but I shoot right handed because my rite eye is the dominant or leading eye. you just have to have the mind set, to do this. this seems to be akward in the beginning but with practice it improves. with auto loaders it is possible to get the shells ejected rite in your face, since we lefty's are living in a rite hand world we have to change our ways to adopt to this dominant system, in order to survive, this is not hard to do. this is mind over matter. Being in the military you have to be adaptable,it saves your behind. test to see wich eye is the leading eye.

Happy shooting

Thanks for the response. looking at pictures it seems to me that your head goes clear of the ejectionport, but if the m82 throws the shells backwards it may still cause a problem i guess.

I'm not a southpaw, but the Barret M82A1 you will be firing is definitely a right handed weapon. Maybe they have developed SOP to compensate for this fact. I also believe the newer version M82 has some sort of shell case deflector attatched to the scope rail on top of reciever? Mark
