You must now SARN the lender, by recorded delivery of course.

If they do not reply within the set period of 40? working days ( approx 8 weeks) you must then contact the information commissioner and ask them to make an assessment.

If they do send you info you must scrutinise it for errors etc and if you find certain documents are missing (see do's and dont's under repossession) then you must write and specifically ask for these documents.

You should start your letters something like:-

Dear Sir/Madam

Further to your letter of ........I do not acknowledge this debt or accept liability.

Please forward the undernoted .....

Hope this helps....keep reading up on the "options" menu and you'll get a feel for what to expect.

Anything you're not sure of just come back to the noticeboard.

Good luck.

Mine wasnt much different although after reading the sarn diary on this site I pieced together ( I think) the little there was. Have you SARNed the lender yet?

Part of your rights under a subject access request is to receive any codes/abbreviations used by the organisation in paperwork they send you, so write a polite note back to JDL (registered mail) listing exactly the codes/abbreviations you don't understand and asking them to send a key.
