My friend recently had been writing and visiting a girl from russia and decided to get married and he is Roman Catholic and she is Russian Orthodox They are having a quick ceremony so she can stay in the united states will this be recognized by the Catholic church The ceremony took place in a justice of the peace.Or will they need to marry again in the Roman Catholic church later to make this a true marriage,PAX

Hello, Andrew.

It will not be a valid marriage.
Since you are his friend, I encourage you to ask him not to go ahead with this. Not only will he begin to live in sin (and could thus lose heaven forever), but a rushed union, based on heated emotion, is likely to be the prelude to divorce and misery.
