Hmmm...Is there a scripture to back up an answer either way or are we venturing out into speculation? I can see the point you are making by asking this though. We sure can make a lot of assumptions without having hard data to back them up.

I figured that was what you were after, as for the ramifications, I'm still waiting to see where it says it would be against the law for Hosea to marry Gomer if she was already a harlot. By the way, I find it interesting that his instructions were to take an adulterous wife and children of unfaithfulness. He then marries Gomer and they have children. Would that be evidence that she wasn't a harlot at the time of marriage?
