Norway - 106-Year-Old Offered Ride To School

OSLO, Norway -- She was born in '97, so it would seem to make sense that the city is offering to provide her with bus transportation to first grade this fall. The trouble is Ingeborg Thuen was born in 1897, not 1997. She's not six, she's 106. Computers in the Norwegian town where she lives had apparently read her birthdate as 1997. So she was sent a letter about the free bus rides to school. And she thinks that's great. She told a newspaper in Oslo that the last time she started school -- in 1903 -- she had to walk an hour each way.
