In Need of Choirs for Women's Day 2003 : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

Good evening, everyone! I greet you in God's love!

I am the Co-Chairperson of our Women's Day this year, to be held on Sunday, April 27, 2003 at St. Paul A.M.E. church located at 86th & Bartram Ave. Phila. PA 19153 where the Rev. Eugene V. McDuffy is Pastor. Our theme is taken from the Prayer of Jabez, "Women with Faith Praying for an Increase in Territory". Our Chairperson is Sis. Sharon Erwin.

Our afternoon service is entitled "God's Word through Music". We are looking to have choirs for our afternoon service at 3:00 on the 27th. We are asking that if you have a choir or know of any choirs that we may ask to this free will offering, please e-mail or contact us. The church number is 215-365-6710.

We are also having 3 other events (so far):

1. Dinners (Chicken, Fish and Pig Feet) - Sat., 2/8 - $7.00 each 2. Luncheon - Talent and Fashion Show - Embassy Suites - 90th and Bartram Ave. - $35.00 - March 15th 3. NY trip - Cotton Club & Shopping - April 5th - $70.00

Sharon and I grew up together in St. Paul (through youth choirs and Y.P.D. and we are cousins) and this is our first time as Chairpersons. We need all the prayers, help and support we can get. We know we have our Fathers' support, but we would love to have yours.

We are looking for a spirit filled Women's Day Service. Our morning worship is at 11:00 AM. All are invited to come. We thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

In God's Service,

Sis. Joyce Jones

Hello Sis. Joyce:

I regret I will not be in Philly during the time of your Women's Day Celebrations. Who is the guest preacher? I do have relatives and in- laws and will encourage them to support your endeavors. Can you handle long-distance food orders? Menu sounds kind of tasty. Can I substitute Pig Feet for N.C. styled BBQ? QED
