SHORTFALL(OVER 6 YR PERIOD) COURT HEARING IN 2 MONTHS, CAN ANYONE HELP???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

Hi,

Had a repossession by Citi Bank in Jan 1993, had not been chased for debt until 1st June 2000. I am aware of the Mortgage Lenders Council policy on not chasing after 6 years. I was advised by the CAB not to have any contact with the 'company'(Property Services Partnership) who then passed the debt onto (Facility Trading Services) who then passed the debt onto (The Lawsmiths). Why did it take them this long to contact me? They contacted me via a phone call I received at work, stateing that they were the 'Inland Revenue 'wanting to confirm my address, because of a recent Family Tax Credit application I made. Surely this alone is against the Law? It's quite suprising it took them this long to contact me, I've been working at the same place for 14 years, so why did they not contact me before? Why have'nt they found my ex partner who shared the mortgage with me? I now find myself with a Charge on my existing property and a Court hearing in 2 months. Is anybody out there that can help me?
