Can we answer yet?

Yes...Dee! I answered Alison's OTF chat with no problem. Good to know that someone else is still reading this forum!! How was your birthday??

Ahh, success.

Now, for anyone who wanted to wish me a happy birthday, thanks. It really wasn't a good one this year. Hubby made a sexist remark in the morning and got mad that I was upset and pouted all day. Then because of my mouth hurting, we went for Chinese instead of Japanese and I almost went through the roof when I tried to eat my sherbert. No, I didn't get my puppy or pickup or the earrings I was hinting for. The next day we went to my in-laws (remember I love my in-laws) and my mom-in-law usually makes me chicken marsala BUT she fried fish for everyone else, knowing that the smell of fish makes me sick. Then she put some cookies on a plate (they were left over from a funeral) and that was my cake. All well, guess I should stop expecting anything too special....I'm not a kid anymore.

On a good note, my brother who I don't hear from often called from CA to wish me a happy birthday and talked for a while. My tempory caps were pulled off and recemented and FINALLY stopped hurting. And a couple of friends from long ago have come back into my life.

So how is everyone else doing?

Geesh, Dee!! What a bummer of a birthday! I know that as adults we shouldn't expect much but.....!!! I think that you should have at least gotten your puppy! What kind of puppy would you like? Did anyone here watch the dog show last Sat. nite??

That's great that you heard from your brother and your teeth are okay!!

j.r. here . . . boy is the forum slow this morning . . . it takes about a minute to load the question . . .

We're fine down here. Winter has been a little more wet this year than the past (and about time, too :^)), and things are actually looking green. It's great.

Sorry to hear about the teeth, Dee; I hope they are feelin' much better now. One of my coworkers got braces a couple of months ago, and when they are adjusted, she eats soup while the rest of us eat our respective lunch(es). Bummer.

See Marcia, that's the problem, I can't really decide what kind of dog I want or I would have brought one home already. At first I thought I wanted a Tiny Toy Parti Poodle and train it to go in a litter box. It's a really small spotted Poodle but remembering the dogs of my youth, Poodles really aren't lovey dovey. I'd like another Bichon Frise but they are only white and are hard to housebreak. Our last dog had to live in the kitchen and was locked up at night and when we weren't home. Putting in a doggie door helped though. I thought about getting a Bichon Poo, which is a cross of both but as a friend pointed out, the only person who would breed something like that would be breeding pet store quality dogs and knowing my luck, it would not housebreak and have an attitude about it. The mix would be considered a mutt anyway. Another dog is a Havanese. It looks like a colorful Bichon but one breeder told me they also are hard to housebreak and they usually sell for $2000- 3000. My friend breeds and shows Bichons. She said she usually gets $1500 for her puppies but her puppies usually go on to winning in dog shows. She would probably give me a pet quality puppy but I really want color this time.

As you may have guessed, I have to get a dog without fur because of my allergies. Oh, oh, how about a Mexican Hairless?

Ah yes...the question without an answer!! What breed of dog to get??!! Harry and I have been mulling that over for almost a year! We both like the smaller dogs with lots of hair...Shetland Sheepdog, Pomeranian, Japanese Chin, and a few others. But we also like the idea of another German Shepherd, Collie or a cross between the two (maybe some Lab thrown in??). I do like the idea of an Australian Shepherd, too! Have you thought about a Standard poodle? From what I remember from my days of showing dogs, they're much more "people-oriented" than their smaller cousins!

BTW...How can you "snuggle" with a Mexican Hairless :-)!!!

Darn server (mine) has been down for 2 days! Glad to see this site is up and running again. I've been trying to save/print off stuff that I'd like to keep; just in case it goes down for good. Wish I knew how to save the whole site to a cd, like Phil did the old CS board. Ah well.

Hi everyone. I've been really busy, and the server thing was just too irritating to deal with. grrr.

Anyone seen earthmama lately?

Polly, how are things going with you folks? I've been thinking about you a lot!

I'm still hanging around too. There hasn't been much going on here so I haven't posted anything. We need a good juicy topic to get us going. Any ideas?

-- Anonymous, February 03, 2003

I don't know, Debra. I can't think of any topic that might get this forum "going" again!! Maybe I'll post a few jokes??!!

I REALLY miss E.M. and Wildman :-(!!
