Poe's own account in "The Philosophy of Composition" at www.eapoe.org. Ravens at his school in England. The fact that both the owl(Pallas Athena's bird) and the parrot had been done before? Some details seem to suggest the demanor and actions of the owl.

I'm not responding properly ....But, I have a question..

Was Poe's "The Raven" ..or the rythmn of it...(or whatever the proper term is) possibly copied from an ancient poem from, I believe, the orient?
