You didn't explain your problem, so I am guessing that you have a Sony DVD player that won't play VCD burned to CD-R media. If that is correct, if you burn to CD-RW discs, you can watch VCD. If you are asking how to make a VCD, http://www.vcdhelp.com has guides on that. If you have a Sony player that does not play CD-R media, there is nothing you can do except buy a different DVD player that does play CD-R media.
