Some of his early poems like "Alone"and "The Lake" the "dream" poems and those with women as the main theme point out the central core of Poe's inner life as being itself his poetic vision. From there of course he does not relive biography, but the EXPERIENCE of the emotion, thast poetic height itself. You see that operative in the tales where the narrators concentrate not on their tragedy or guilt so much as the emotional high they got during the extreme crisis.

So, as tragic events multiplied in Poe's life, yes you can see Mrs. Stanard, Mrs. Royster and Virginia influencing important poems but the works themselves keep feeding on the central Muse.
