Can 2 Catholics be married in a Methodist church building?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

My fiance grew up in a Methodist church and is currently in RCIA. Though she will likely be Catholic when we are married, she still desires to have the wedding in her old church b/c of emotional attachment, parents, and the fact that many guests will be members. My questions is: Is there a statement in Canon Law that forbids this or is it up to the discretion of the bishop? I want to please my beloved and her family, but will not break the rules of Christ's Church in order to do so. Thank you.

An incredibly old post, but I'll answer for anyone who is googling this sort of question. I was married a year and a half ago and the service was at my wife's church. We went through the standard procedure for the dispensation and had no trouble getting "approved".
