determin the best parameter for resistance welding a

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Resistance Welding : One Thread

hi :

i ahve old collected data on resistance weling, the setup for the machine changed slithly in the past, I do not have any mathmatical model that helps me to predict the new setup for a new order. we change the control panel, no the diffrence between and old setup combination and the new one to achieve the desired result is larg.

can any body help me to find the best way to build a kind of model from the past data, and predicting the new setup.

thank y

IN THE CASE OF RESISTANCE WELDING PARAMETERS DEPENDS ON LOTS OF FACTORS. GUIDELINES CAN BE TAKEN FROM RWMA STANDARDS (RESISTANCE WELDER MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION). THE LEAST OF THE THICKNESS FORMS THE BASE FOR DECIDING THE PARAMETERS. TO COMPLICATE THE THINGS FURTHER, YOU HAVE TO DECIDE THE TYPE OF WELD ( A, B OR C ) THAT IS THE COMBINATION OF CURRENT AND WELD TIME COMBINATION.

IF YOU ARE WELDING ONLY A STEEL SHEET , THINGS ARE MUCH SIMPLER. CONTACT ME ON THE ABOVE E-MAIL FOR FURTHER EXPLANATION

This is not an answer but a question to Mr/Ms K.S.VENKATARAMANAN .Sorry Emad. My question is that I understand there is no unique way of determining those welding parameters. right? Would this mean this welding thing is little bit trial and error type of thing. I mean there is no certainity as to how to set current, pressure or time right? So what am I supposed to do to join two piece of metals. Help me please I am so desperate:))

Thanks a lot if anybody do cares
