January 2, 2003 -- One of the men pictured on an FBI wanted list of suspects believed to have illegally entered the United States on a possible terror mission has been located selling jewelry in Pakistan.

Mohammed Asghar, 30, who has never visited the United States, said yesterday he was shocked to find his picture in a newspaper as one of five men being hunted in America.

But the feds didn't own up to the photo bungle, saying agents in Pakistan would investigate the matter today.

"We're still in the process of confirming the photograph," an FBI spokeswoman said.

The photo confusion came as sources told The Post that the Marriott Hotel on Adams Street in Brooklyn, Kennedy Airport and the Brooklyn Bridge were believed to have been among the targets for eight "diversionary" attacks on New Year's Eve before a planned assault on a ship in New York Harbor. More
