I copied and pasted the Hopi elder post on Homesteading today---general chat a few days ago. One response I got was from Idaho Gal who has requested membership to BTS.

Here's her intro

Hi John. Yes, I am interested in participating in this forum. About me; I have been a single homesteader in the northwoods of the Idaho panhandle for the last 8 yrs. My interest lies in walking the spiritual path with a sense of humor.....learning this from coyote, of course . I like to bead, sew, gather gifts from forest and field to make salves and tinctures. I am in my heart a peacemaker for the planet. I am environmentally conscious, but not totally anal about it...kinda middle of the road I guess. I am an old hippie lady and still live pretty much within the old belief system. It would be nice to converse with folks who share some of my ideals, in a friendly forum.

Think Peace, Idaho Gal.

Seems to me she would be a good fit here. We need more action and posts and new blood would help.

She sounds like she'd fit right in . . . she's got my vote. Wow, The Idaho panhandle is some pretty rugged country . . . for an 'old hippie lady', I'll bet she has some stories to tell.

She sounds pretty interesting. I vote yes.

Well I don't have any objections, but it seems we've done this many times before, and after giving people the password, they never show up more than a couple of times anyway.

Some people get scared off by differences in opinion, cant seem to discuss passionate issues without getting mad. Guess they get scared when someone makes them think more deeply about their values and beliefs. I dunno. Me, I love to argue, always have, it keeps me sharp and honest, but it must always be done with respect and civility.

Sure would be interesting/instructive to hear from someone in Idaho who could help quell the image I have of neoNazi types takin over up there! :)

I vote to admit her.

I, too, would like to meet someone from the Idaho panhandle who's not a neo nazi. And I hope that this does not sound too reactionary. I am sure there are lots of folks up there who are fine folks. Fact is, quite a few folks from my circle moved up there when this part of Orygun got too crowded for them.

Nevertheless, that part of Idaho is linked to Butler, Snook, etc, as tightly as cowboys are to west Texas!

Welcome, in advance, Idaho Gal!

JOJ

Maybe it's because I've been low-carbing for over a month now, but when I think of Idaho all I think of is potatoes! :)

I vote yes.

Yes, there are folks with brains in Idaho ;-)!!!

Anyone who wants to say NO has until tomorrow to say so -- that's a whole week that this will have been up. Otherwise, I am going to declare that enough people have seen this and responded to make it a "go".

What time tomorrow? When I sign on, whenever that might be! :-P

I haven't been to the Homesteading Forum, so I don't know anything about Idaho Gal...but I know you all have good judgement so I vote yes!

Well, since it seems to be unanimous I'm gonna e-mail Idaho Gal tonight and welcome her to the fold.

Oops, sorry, I forgot to post the "official" go ahead. {insert embarassed face}
