Praise the Lord. I am Munira from Bombay, India and a convert from Islam. Please pray for our intentions. (Sorry about the length). My family is in joint business run mainly by my father and his two step brothers. The business was run mainly by my uncles and my father did not really have much to say in the decisions and he really never agreed with his brothers, coz our business was mainly being done on borrowed money from banks and individual parties. The borrowing now stands to Rs 6 crores (US$ 1.2 million). My father always had his interest in gambling (horse racing) for small stakes. This is also reason why he did not interfere much in the decision making of the business coz he was always made to feel inadequate, coz when he was about 16 years of age he had left home without telling anybody and had spent Rs 50,000 ($1,000) on horse racing. He felt it would always be thrown back on his face. My father could not face these debts and last year 14th July, 2001; he left home and we had no idea about him for 3 and a half months. He called us and now he stays away from us coz he feels that if he comes back the creditors will keep asking for the money and he does not know how to face them. He does not own much except is partner in business and he owns the ancestral home which is about Rs 10,00,000 ($20,000). The apartment where we live is in my mum's name and so is the garage which was given to mother by her dad. (My parents are cousins coz Muslims intermarry and both fathers are brothers). Now our uncles want us to sell our garage and maybe our home (We do not speak much to them coz when my father left home they wanted us to go to the Muslim high priest who do black magic and since we all in my family have accepted Jesus, we felt it wrong and so there has been this rift between us coz they feel we knew where my father was. Please pray coz we do not know what to do in this situation. We are grown ups. I am 40 years old and practice hair dressing from home. I have my sister who is also baptised along with me who is a year younger and she gives french tutorials also from home. She has a 16 year old son who is a slow learner and is studying. Please pray for him especially too. I have my brother 37 years who is working and his job is giving him problems. He too might be without a job. He has a Buddhist wife from Thailand and my mother who also wishes to get baptised and so does my father but he wants to settle his debts and then get baptised. Please pray for us all. Consider your request for prayers as a done deal. It sounds like you have been through quite a bit. Hold fast...you are in the right place. It may seem adversarial at times, yet we all wish blessings upon one another. Keep praying. This forum will do the same.
