When I couldn't get any vcd software to play on my toshiba I called the manufacturer and the tech on the phone could do nothing more than read to me from the manual. One piece of software played a message asking me to turn on PBC (playback control) in order to view the VCD. Low and behold, once I did that, every program I had tried (about 4 or 5) played. Now I'm very happy and the new problem is which software to stay with.
