Del Monte To Bring Back Popular Feline Pitchman Posted: 11:22 a.m. EST December 30, 2002BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- Morris the Cat is coming back.
Del Monte officials are planning to bring back a popular ad campaign and its well-known feline pitchman to jump-start sales of 9 Lives cat food.
Chief Executive Officer Richard Wolford said Del Monte also plans to introduce new 9 Lives flavors and evaluate the plant in Lime Ridge and make any needed improvements.
He said the plan is "to put resources into Morris and 9 Lives and improve the performance of that product."
He said Del Monte's objective is to grow the pet food business. Earlier this month, Del Monte made its biggest deal in a decade, picking up several Heinz brands and doubling the company's size in a stock spin-off. The new Del Monte began officially running the Lime Ridge plant last week.
[One word: Wysong. My cats love this food and where it used to take 4-5 cans of Friskies a day (plus numerous bowls of Friskies crunchies) it now takes less than 2 cans of Wysong and about the same fraction of Wysong crunchies. I cannot bring myself to use supermarket pet food since I read what goes into them--and had it confirmed by a personl, and very defensive, letter from a premium food company.]

I had the second worst luck coming home this morning from work. I saw some of their ingredients smeared across the highway.worst luck is being the one driving that did it.
