AS Bill Clinton's socializing becomes ever more frenetic, it's only a matter of time until the ex-prez bumps into a certain White House ex-intern who is also a peripatetic partygoer. A few weeks ago, Clinton almost collided with an old nemesis, Whitewater prosecutor Kenneth Starr, whose rigorous investigation triggered the impeachment of the 42nd president. According to columnist Richard Turley in Avenue magazine, the two were invited by Tina Brown to her send-off for new L.A. Police Chief Bill Bratton, but neither showed. Turley writes, "Wouldn't that have been a fine how-do-you-do?" Yes, and a juicy item for Tina's column in the Sunday Times of London.
