Faulty played svcd by Pioneer dv-525

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hello,

I have a problem. Though I make svcd successfully and play them in my pc nicely I cn't watch them right in my DVD player. Particularly, the screen divides into 2 (approximately) like it's been pushed to right, and the right part that's benn pushed out comes out at the left. Does anyone know what could that be? My dvd-player is pioneer dv-525. Thanks in advance.

This is a bug in older versions of TMPGenc (particularly 12x), which some players (like JVC) could handle but some (like Pioneer) could not. Either way, all recent Pioneers (533, 535, etc.) can now handle correctly SVCDs made with the older (buggy) TMPGenc, and latest versions of TMPgenc (2.59) do not have this bug.
