1 crd or 2 cdr

I have finally made a dvd backup using dvdx in .avi format. I am using Nero and I want to put it on a vcd, but can't. My movie is 88 minutes long and 494 megabytes. My cdr is 80 minutes long and 700 megabytes. If I don't have to burn it on 2 cds, then can someone tell how to put burn it on 1 cdr. Thanks

You have two choices. VCD requires a constant video bit rate of 1.15 Mbps. If you encode at a lower bit rate, like maybe 1.0 Mbps, it should get all the film, but what you have will not technically be a VCD. Nero will complain about it, although you should be able to burn it and play it OK. The other choice is to buy either 90 or 99 minute CD-Rs and burn to them. Most CD burners will burn 90 minute CD-Rs without problems. Many burners will not correctly burn the 99 minute discs. You should be aware that these discs violate CD-R standards. I have had excellent results with the 90 minute discs, but if something refuses to play them, there is nothing you can do about it. Nero recognizes these longer CD-Rs as being 80 minute discs, so what you have to do is you have to change the settings in Nero to overburn to a length of 90 minutes 30 seconds or 99 minutes 30 seconds and tell Nero to go ahead and overburn when it gives you the warning message. A web search should find several Internet sources of these discs.
