NORTH MIAMI, Fla. -- Miami Beach police are investigating a stabbing at a post office by a man who authorities say killed his wife first.

Police believe the unidentified man killed his wife at an apartment complex on Northeast 3rd Court in North Miami Thursday morning.

According to police, the man then called his brother and said he was heading to the Normandy Post Office on 71st Street in Miami Beach, where he worked, "to hurt people."

The brother called police, who arrived at the post office after the man allegedly stabbed his female supervisor.

Her condition was unknown at noon.

NBC 6 is following this story and will have more information as it develops.

Going postal must be stamped out.

It's a hard thing to lick.

The manager is going to recover fine, they say.

It's the kids futures that concern most folks now. Having to remember that they lost their mother the day after Christmas, and Daddy did it ... gotta be a hard thing to deal with.

6 pm news did a segment last night about the USPS' greatest concern, return of its boxes. Apparently they are a collector's item. USPS is promising amnesty.

I think as soon as Barefoot finishes unpacking from last year's motel trip the USPS should be back in business...

boxes? Oh, you mean the plastic tubs? It's all the carrier's faults. They should keep track of where and how many they leave around and collect them the next day, but some are too lazy to do that. If it came out of their pay like postage due letters I think we'd see a major drop in the number of tubs missing.

Maybe we should charge a deposit, like on the 5 gallon water bottles?

Dunno about elsewhere, but our local phone directory no longer carries local USPS phone numbers, except for some 800 telephone attendant thingie. Those few numbers still in the book (i.e, for Raleigh and a couple of outlying hamlets) are no longer in service. Harrumph!
