Need Help - Catholic Youth Web

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Hello, all. I've been away for a while. My wife was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The good news though is that after having her thyroid removed followed by treatment with radioactive iodine, it appears the worse part may be behind us.

But between babysitting the kids and work, I found some time to upgrade my website. The site is for the youth that I teach from the parish as well as those in the RCIA program that I occasionally instruct.

I am both inviting you to check the site out and am asking for your suggestions - and to be guinea pigs. The site hasn't been thoroughly tested, so I'm sure there are a few bugs. If you're up to the task, check out the site using as many features as you can and send me an email to report bugs, to give suggestions or just provide your comments (and good Catholic links).

The site is basically a portal to great Catholic content on the Internet with some original content (some articles I've written) and a special "myDiary" feature, allowing users to store their favorite religious websites, Bible verses and notes to journal their spiritual journey. I'll be adding some online courses when time permits.

The site requires you to register. You can't use the myDiary features unless you do, but if you don't want to register (just need to provide name and email), you can visit as a visitor.

Cool Hollis. What software did you use to create the site?

No software. Just scripted it along with a MS SQL database on the backend to store the myDiary personalization content.
