Unsure Happiness

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

I feel Happy now that I've gotten my life back together but I feel that a lot of things in my life are so difficult for me. I lost my job and I am looking so hard for another. I am praying to God but it seems that he is not responding. I know it takes time but I just feel very bad right now about this and it really hurts. My mom was in that same situation, well not exactly the same but what happened was that she was in a desperate situation and she begged and begged God but she got no response. So she stopped begging him. Then all of a sudden, better things were happening in her life. Not everything is perfect for her, but at least she is doing a lot better than before. So should I just keep on asking God for help or does will he get tired of me.

Yes, keep asking God for help. No, He will not get tired of you. But remember He may not answer you the way you want. Remember Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. :-)

Guillermo, don't ever stop asking because God NEVER tires of hearing your prayers. It is music to His ears to hear you come to Him in your time of need.

You must remember that God's time is not our time. We are, by nature on the whole, an impatient lot. When we want something...we want it NOW. Why do ya think fast food restaurants are so popular? ;)

And while we may get the answer to that prayer to God, it may just take a while. And yes, we may never get the answer we were seeking. Because we must trust that our Father knows what is best for us. Believe me, I know the frustration you feel. I've been doing the job hunt thing for quite a while now and it's agonizing. Especially when you have bills piling up, debtors calling, Christmas coming, etc. There's a job I'm up for right now. I finally had to say out loud yesterday~ok, God, that's it. I'm tired of worrying about it. I've done the best I could and I can't do anymore so, I'm leaving it in Your hands. I'll trust Your plan and will all the way.

The way I see it? Whatever happens, happens. God's always taken care of me before. We must trust (like a child) that He will give us what is best for us. And we must also remember that it may not always be as quick as we would like.

Take care and God bless~

Guillermo,

'Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.'

There was a reason Jesus said the same thing three times - to assure you that our Father in heaven gives. He is the benefactor of all gifts. He is the all-provider. It is His joy to hear you ask, and His joy to give. We will always receive, but the condition in order to receive, is to ask. So ask, ask, ask. Never tire of asking. And trust, trust, trust, because God never disappoints. The greatest tool of the Evil One is discouragement, so don't give in. Ask, and believe that you have already received what you have asked for. And when your faith is this great, not only will you get a job - which God wants you to obtain, since work is healthy for us - but you'll even be able to move mountains.

Yep, mountains.

Dear Guillermo,

I just read a quote yesterday from Mother Teresa. She said, "Do not get discouraged."

Please do not get discouraged because God's timing is always perfect and when the time is right, you will get a job, the 'right' job for you because God knows what is best for you, He really does.

We can make all the plans we want, but the outcome is always in God's hands. We must trust Him with all things.

Jesus tells us to thank Him for all things, not just the good stuff, but 'all' things. If you thank God for the situation you are in now because you 'know' and trust that God has plans for you that are better beyond your imagination, miraculous things will start happening in your life, you'll see. Stop what you are doing right now, that means stop reading this for a minute and say, "Dear Lord, thank you for the trial I am going through because I know there is a reason for it, although I don't know or understand what that reason is now, you will reveal your will for me and when the time is right, I will get a job that is right for me.

You will see things in your life starting to change, you will receive blessings from God that you can't begin to imagine now. Try it!

Jeremiah 29:14 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seeks me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the Lord, "and will bring you back...to the place from which I carried you into exile.."

Seek the Lord with all your heart, Guillermo, asking him what he has in mind for your life. You will feel peaceful and hopeful as you seek his plans for you.

God wants you to trust Him completely and wants you to have peace and hope in your heart. Satan wants you to be discouraged, sad, hopeless.

Never give up hope because that is pleasing to Satan. I will keep you in my prayers, Guillermo. If you have time, stop by a church, sit in front of the Blessed Sacrament and pour your heart out to God, He will listen. He is already working on a plan for your life. He knows what you need without your asking, but wants to get close to you during this time.

God answers all of our prayers, Guillermo, all of them - even if He doesn't answer them the way we want Him to...because He knows what is best for us even when we don't.

May you find peace, trusting, hoping and "knowing" that your life is in God's hands. May He give you strength.

Guillermo,

If you own a Bible, open it to Psalm 34. I just read a verse and it made me think of you.

"This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles."

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted" please continue to call on Him and don't give into despair. ML

MaryLu, what a wonderful verse from Jeremiah.May we just drink that love in, He wants things to go well for us.

Guillermo, yes, yes, He loves you so, take what MaryLu says, her words are true.

Read on in Luke chapter 11 verses 9 through 13. Our Father in Heaven waits for His children to come to Him. And again in Luke chapter 18, verse 7.." Will not God then secure the rights of His chosen ones who call out to Him day and night? Will He be slow to answer them, He will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. "

Take courage my friend!
