There was a race track on Geveva Ave. At the border of San Francisco and Daily city line next to the Cow palace it was then turned into the Geneva drive in that is now closed too. But you can still see the old grand stands of the race track off Geneva Ave. as you drive by.

Really? I've never heard of that. Are you talking about the Cow palace?

Ingleside Racetrack. Take a look at a road map of San francisco and find Urbano Drive. Urbano is an oval laid exactly along the lines of the old Ingleside Racetrack, the last venue for horse racing in San Francisco.

There was a race track that was built in 1885 in the Ingleside area. Urbano drive follows the mile-long loop of the old racetrack. I believe the owner was a part of the Bay Meadows race track. He got into a dispute with his partner and he ended up building his own race track. Not only were horses raced there but it is believed to have been the site of the first Auto race is California perhaps even the west coast. After the racetrack closed in 1905, it became a model camp right after the 1906 Earthquake.

Does anyone know the name or anything about the race track near the Cow Palace? I've always noticed it but cannot find any info.
