i too am interested to find some lotus seeds. i beleive the variety i am after is called NELUMBO NUCIFERA and it has an edible lotus root. it is also known as east indian lotus.to start it i was told that you can put it in a soda water bottle filled with hot (but not boiling) water and shake the bottle well. place it on a sunny window and keep shaking the bottle every day. when the seed sprouts you want to put it onto the soil and try to anchor it with a small stone or something else. it should be placed into a shallow water - 1-2 inch of water above the soil....
hope this helps. i would appreciate to find out if anyone had luck to find any seeds....
