i believe the key theme in Annabelle Lee was Poe's wife Virgina. i think he wrote it while she was dying due to turberculosis, it might have been after. he mainly just praises this woman 'Annabelle Lee' in the whole poem. sorry, but that's all i know so far. i read that poem a long time ago and i'm somewhat fuzzy in all the details.

I think that the Key Theme in the poem Annabelle Lee, is about his wife, when she had died. He was going through alot of depression because of the only two people that he loved, which was his wife and mother, who both died of Turberculosis. Annabelle Lee is based on the love that he had for his wife.
