Was Poe insane or crazy or was he bright?

No, Poe was not crazy or insane, he was just expressing what his imagine gave him... he didnt really care what people thought about him... but many thought that Poe was a drunkerd and drug addict, but he wasn't

actually Poe was a dunkard and did do drugs, but he wasn't crazy. He had a hard life . His parents died when he was three. Some of his nieghbors were kind enough to illegally adopt him. Then his adopted father forced him into the military until he died. Then he got out when he found out that his adopted mother was severly ill. Now you tell me why that wouldn't drive a man to drink.

from what I've heard Poe was not insane OR a drunkard.He had diabeties so when he drank a little he got really drunk and he made a distinction between the characters in his stories and himself.

I have reacently had a lose in my life, my cat who I had for three years was killed. You see, I have a neighbor who is VERY SICK in the mind. One day they grabbed a knife and went outside and stabbed my cat, for no apparent reason. I found my cat crying outside, about 5 minutes later. I sat sobbing on the ground, holding my cat's dead body. You can only imagine the horror I feel inside. I have found a temporary relief from this pain when I write poems about the huge horror I feel inside. I think Poe had did a similar thing, and felt similar, but with even more grief. I think Poe was neither crazy nor insane, but sad and grieving.
