Has Anyone installed and Ran a Power Commander?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

I just installed a Power Commander on my stock 2002 F4. I was just wondering if anyone out there have done this and that they felt it made a difference. I am going to go to a Dynojet facility to see how well Ferracci did on the map that is installed on PCIII. Any comment will be appreciated.

I haven't heard of anyone running one yet, but I'm sure they are out there. My bike is still has a "glitch" from completely closed throttle to slightly open. It's a minor annoyance on the street, but on the track it can really upset the bike because I'm just getting back into the throttle at that critical point in the apex. What happens is it acts like there is nothing for the first few degrees of turn, then it comes on like I whacked the throttle open which is not really what you want to have happen at that point.

Anyway, I've got a 2001 and you've got a 2002 which supposedly they fixed a bunch of stuff on, so maybe you don't have this problem... This would be the main thing I'd be looking to fix with a new computer. If you notice anything in this area I'd be interested to hear.

I have recently installed a Power Commander to my EV 02 F4S. It is important that you fit an open exhaust system as well. There has been a smooth increase in power from 0-13,000 revs. Although there are slight flat spots in the power curve @ 4-5,000 and 8-9,000. There is still a marked inprovement in performance with an increase of up to 6.3 BHP on the dyno. I live in the UK and had a custom map installed by Dynospeed developments who Dynojet uk recommened to me.

I have no trouble keeping up with my riding companions who ride all R1's and a Fireblade. But then Danny rides an R6 and we can't get near him down the lanes ? Power is great, skill is better !
