How to make a VCD for a file "MUSIC01.DAT"?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi!

I had a VCD which contains a movie. Since I didn't have a CD burner at that time, I only copied "MUSIC01.DAT" from "MPEGAV". I can certainly use Windows Media Player to play this "MUSIC01.DAT".

Now I've got a CD burner, and I would like to create a VCD for this "MUSIC01.DAT", such that I can play it in my VCD player. I created the following folder, and put "MUSIC01.DAT" into "MPEGAV" folder, and burned these folders to a CD.

CDDA CDI EXT KARAOKE MPEGAV SEGMENT VCD

However, my VCD player doesn't recognise it?

Can anyone help?

Thanks very much indeed

Are you bunring these as data CD's? Your best shot is to download Nero burning rom off of kazaa and use the VCD burning feature on that. Itssimple to use and figure out. Just download Nero and the Nero keygen so you can register it as the full version, thats it.

First, you need a conversion software call "VCDgear.exe" which can be downloaded from web. It converts the DAT to Mpeg and store into your PC.

Nero burner only accepts Mpeg file and not DAT file. Then choose "Video CD" in the wizard, then select "Write CD" to starts the burning process.
