Cant play VCD's on a Naiko N2001B dvd player

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have recently purchased a Naiko DVD player and cant play VCD's on it. I am getting a message of "Invalid Disc". Am i able to get a format disc to enable me to play VCD's or is there another way of overcomming this problem?

you can make the N2001B play vcd's quite easy all you have to do is just burn the m-peg file on to a disk on it's own then it plays in your dvd player i does not seem to work with all the files on the disk so just burn the m-peg file on to disk

Note - copied this from another site - I do not have a VCD but thought it may be useful to you

I can confirm this does work - a "normal" VCD with loads of directories just gets rejected with "DISC ERROR" but plain mpeg files are seen and you get a menu displayed so you can select the required file for playing.
