1) It may not support VCD at all. I have only heard of a few Toshiba DVD players that this was true for, but maybe it's true for your player also. Check the DVD player compatibility list at http://www.vcdhelp.com to see. 2) It may not play CD-R or CD-RW media at all. If your VCD is burned to CD-R/W, that may be the REAL problem. Do you have a commercial VCD, not a homemade one, you can test with? Again, check the DVD compatibility list to see if that might be the problem. 3) Your VCD might be improperly made or it might not be a VCD at all but some other format (ie. SVCD, DivX) that the player doesn't support. 4) The DVD player might play VCD, but only either in PAL or NTSC format and your VCD might be in the other format. Usually if this is the case you get an image on your TV, it's just scambled and impossible to watch. Regions have nothing to do with VCD playing.

the samsung m105 will play vcd's it says so on the dvd player and the manual. however if u mean vcd's coppied onto cdr disks then no it does not work. i would suggest getting the EPROM chip either changed or reprogramed if u search on google there is a guy mike something who does this new chip £15 inc P+P reporogram yours £5 inc P+P
