Heard Back From Cagiva USA

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

I sent a message to Cagiva USA asking them for any information regarding the MV Agusta bankruptcy and plant closing. An employee responded saying that although he cannot speak for the company, he has a strong belief that motorcycles will begin production in a couple months. He said that there are 3 possible scenarios that the company is looking at and all 3 of them result in the continuation of the MV Agusta line including the F4 model ( Im sure in reality there is a 4th possibility, that the company goes under ). In the meantime he said Cagiva USA is recieving shipments of parts and has no problem fufilling warrenty repairs. It was nice that he spent the time to anwser me, he sounded like a genuine MV Agusta enthusiast as well. I dont know if he convinced me that its safe to buy a new F4 but it was nice that he put forth the effort to respond.

Oh yeah, email me if you want me to forward the response to you.

I also got the same response from Cagiva and am very tempted to post the e-mail message here. However, I would like to wait to get approval from the Cagiva employee.

As Doug mentioned, he sounds like an MV Agusta enthusiast and his response in commendable. As such, I'd hate to get him in trouble by openly posting his response here. I should know by Monday.

Maybe the best way to go about this would be to ask for an official statement from the company, and if they don't have one, when can we expect one?

This is not too much to ask. As customers, they want to keep our business. If this turns out to be a ripple in the overall scheme of things, so be it, I'm still a customer. If they don't make any statements and I generally don't get a good feel for what they are doing, I'll go away. I know it's difficult from their end, but all of this is enough to give me the serious jitters. I'm not even taking my bike to the track now that I know about this. I'm just too bummed.

The lawyers will have to go over the statement with a fine tooth comb before the company can release anything offical. My guess is this will be several weeks after we get the scoop from online sources.

Hey Guys, Relax a bit. You're getting way ahead of yourselves and sounding a tad paranoid. Don't lose sleep over something you have no control over. Masis
