Concrete Floors in Garages

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pontiac GTO : One Thread

I have a garage that is 30 yrs old. It is insulated in the walls and ceiling. I have never noticed any humidity in garage. My 1971 GP has been oil sprayed underneath. Could the concrete still be emitting moisture that is rotting the bottom of my car (floors/frame) Do you put down plywood or a vapour barrier or is this really an issue.

Epoxy your floor

If you want to do it right and you are worried about all the moisture, you need to muratic acid your floor then put an epoxy garage floor paint down. Rustoleum makes a pretty awesome one, that should seal your moisture and not ruin your car.
