My mother is a college-educated, working woman (mashala); however, due to divorce and insufficient child support, she has a difficult time paying all of her bills. My grandparents cover part of her expenditures. Is it permissible for me to give her my zakat? Thank you for your time. Jazak Allah Khair.

Answers

Zakat cannot be given to your parents, grandparents, grandson etc. It can be given to aunties; eg mum's sister etc. Your mother will be able to receive zakat from other relatives but not from yourself.
