I Have Heat-Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : CountrySide Family : One Thread

The repairman finally showed up at 5:30 last night. By 6:15 the furnace was working -throwing out lots of heat. He even fixed the electronic filtration system that the last repairman from their place said wasn't working. It works and he hooked it all back up, so now we have the snap, crackle, pop when any dust gets sucked up. Maybe that will help keep some of those cobwebs from mysteriously sprouting overnight. I am so happy to know if I want heat it's available. The repairman was nice and seemed to know his stuff which made the wait less troublesome.

Tom took me out to lunch and neither of us are feeling too great, the food seemed OK, tasted fine but both of us have upset stomachs now. Maybe it's just that we're not used to eating much for non-homecooked foods anymore.

The winds are blowing and it's 70 degrees out. Thunderstorms are expected by tomorrow afternoon. All of the leaves have blown off the trees now so it looks like fall but feels like early summer. I'm not complaining, low 70's are nice. Have a good night,

The weather IS nice, I guess we will have an Indian summer after all!

I know that many people are happy with wood stove heat, but I am not a morning person, and getting out of bed is bad enough in the morning without the house being cold! In the winter time, I truly DO love central heating and electric lights!

My husbands Aunt had a lovely set-up. They used the wood stove for their primary heating, but set the thermostat so it would kick in when their banked-up fire allowed the house to cool down too much. That means their house stayed warm and their bills stayed VERY low!

thats what I do Terri,,keep the thermostat at 60 or whatever, and when the fire cools down enough, it will kick in. IT may kick on twice before I get up and re stock the fire.

Glad its up and running Kathy,,, now if we can find that mail you sent me,,,
