greenspun.com : LUSENET : CountrySide Family : One Thread

Do you do different things to save $$$ on your homestead? Things like drying clothes on the line to save on gas...   That's one reason we burn wood. Share your ideas with us and maybe you will post something that we can do to save.

For normal night lighting I use 7 watt nightligts. Gives a glow like kerosene and I expend less than 30 watts. I have knocked $12 a month average off my utility bill.

I enjoy myself on my place. Do you have any idea how much entertainment and fine dining in town cost????

Gallons of berries, flowers on my table, happy kids coming in from playing in the creek around the corner, TV with popcorn while playing footsie with DH, surfing the net between chores......

This has GOT to be saving me a bundle!

Chore? Who's talking about CHORES? I'm talking about saving money with home-made entertainment, LOL!

"homemade entertainment",, LOL, the kids MUST be around ,,, LOL,,

one of the most saving things I do, is get FREE stuff whenever possible, even it if doesnt look like you will need it, can always trade it to someone who needs it

Yup. Sometimes it irritates my Dh, too, even though he is twice as bad. At least my lumber can be stacked in the garage! Unlike his broken appliances.... Ah, well, I knew his heart was in the city when I married him....... :-)
