WARREN, Mich. (AP) — A 65-year-old man who often dressed as Santa Claus for Warren's Thanksgiving parade was charged with stabbing his daughter to death during an argument about Christmas decorations.

Frederick Kaercher was being held Wednesday on murder charges in the death of 31-year-old Monica Kaercher.

"They were arguing over Christmas decorations," prosecutor Robert Merrelli said.

"It appears that was the precipitating argument."

Police said the argument Tuesday led Kaercher to accuse his daughter of stealing some items. The argument moved to the kitchen, where Kaercher allegedly grabbed a butcher's knife and stabbed his daughter in the neck, said Det. David Andrews.

In addition to the annual Thanksgiving parade, Kaercher made appearances at Warren city hall during the holidays. Last year, heart problems kept him from serving as Santa Claus but his daughter continued to help organize the parade, said parade chairman Jeff Cutter.

Man, people are really going off the deep end these days.

Leno had some psycho doc on last night. he's from Oprah's show, I think. Dr. Hal? Anyway, he was saying pretty much the same thing, referring to the parents fighting at a kids ballgame in a couple instances.

Then they had on the kid who was punished for kissing his girlfriend on the forehead in the school hallway. he was kicked off the football team just before a big game, he missed the prom, and the incident goes in his permanent file. I mean, what the f==k?

People have got to get a grip on reality or we're gonna all die. This crap has got to stop.

I think the DNC is behind it all.
