SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- The Federal Aviation Administration has denied a request to change the Sioux City airport's code to something other than SUX.

Back in March, airport officials petitioned the federal agency to change the three-letter designation. Airport Director Glenn Januska said the reasons given for the rejection weren't strong, so they plan to appeal. He doesn't know how long that will take.
