Mutter posted this at IC todayDial Up At Near Broadband Speeds -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [wasn`t sure where to post this one as i think it works so well on dial up that i wanna shout it from the rooftop. ]
my broadband was down over the weekend and i was crawling around on my back up dial-up service.
ran into this little goody and because it has a free trail [and no spyware] i thought i would download it and give it a try.
WOW! this thing really does work! and the longer you use it the faster you go. within a couple hours i was hitting 141 kps on my dial-up!
sooooo, thought i would put it out here for those of you that do the dial up thing on a regular basis. [if i ever am back on dial-up full time i will surely make this part of it. fwiw]
www.propel.com/index.jsp
now, after the free trial it is about $4.95 a month if you decide it is worth it to you to keep it. [for a little over a buck a week? well worth it in my opinion]
so, here is a good site i found that has a huge listing of isp`s and there specials and charges:
thelist.internet.com/
figure it would be very easy to find a good isp on this list that even with the $4.95 mo. charge for the propel, you can still be paying less than you are now to fly alot faster around cyberworld.
[ no, i don`t own this company or know anyone involved in it either. just found something i thought was great and wanted to share it here. ]

Thanks SAR.......I only have access to a rather slow dialup, as we live out in the boonies and don't have anything else except satellite, which is way out of my range. I am going to check this out.
