Anti-Saddam web warriors hack Iraqgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News - Homefront Preparations : One Thread |
By BILL SANDERSONOctober 29, 2002 -- Maybe they've mastered weapons of mass destruction - but Saddam Hussein's minions couldn't make his official Web site hack-proof.
Some e-mails to Saddam were revealed yesterday by Wired News, which said hacking into the site was easy.
Lots of people write to tell Saddam they hate him.
A Gulf War veteran wrote in June that he regretted the war ended "before my friends and I had a chance to completely wipe your cartoon character of a leader off the face of this earth."
Saddam also hears from supportive Americans, including a Washington state man who warned, "The CIA is notoriously crafty and extremely adept at overthrowing governments and their respective leaders."
Also among Saddam's e-mails were business solicitations - including an American company's offer of a weapon that can "ignite large sections of the atmosphere and incinerate all living creatures within its pre-selected coordinates."
The company's CEO told Wired News, "No way would we ever give the weapon-of-mass-destruction technology to Mr. Hussein."
Saddam's official Web site is www.uruklink.net/iraq/.
