Useless Facts #12

Are we there yet? No.

Are we there yet? No.

Are we there yet? *turns around*

NO! No breaks! Not until you all know as much as I do! In other words, strap in kids, it's going to be a long trip! And we're taking the scenic route! MOWHAHAHAHAHAHA!

For this installment of Asylum *smiling Buddha sounds a huge brass gong* Outpatient's Useless Facts, I'm going to shock you. 500 years ago, India and Persia were covered with...kup kup-o? KUPO! Moogles! Yes, it's true. Not the cute teddies from the series, but a mighty race descended from the Mongols. The Mughals.

The history of the Mughals is a simple one. They invaded India, and conquered it, but were soon driven out by the Hindu. 10 years later, a teenaged Mughal by the name of Akbar re-invaded India and re-conquered it. The first gunpowder empire was established. Kupoppo! Rather than subject the Indians to unfair government, Akbar's policy was to let the natives govern themselves. Christians living in Christian districts could use Christian law. Hindu living in Hindu areas used Hindu laws. Akbar was one of those few religious people who realized that if you want someone to convert to your religion, that killing thousands of people isn't the preferred method. He sought to unify Christianity, Zoroastrianism, Hindi, and Islam.

The end of the Mughal empire? Easy one. Destroyed by the white man. The British and Portugese pretty much commandeered the Mughal trade centers, so shaky alliances were established. There were lots of rebellions when the British forced the Mughals to bite off the tip of cartridges (covered in animal grease), so of course, as befits white culture, everything non-white was wiped out or subjected.

Isn't this fun? The basic rule for all history is that if you stand in the way of the fat, rich, and powerful, preventing them from getting fatter, richer, and powerful...er, you get wiped out! Erased from memory! How many of you even knew what a Mughal was? POINT MADE! THAT'S THE GIST!

Sometimes even the best of us can make mistakes. The history is correct as I have presented it, but as it turns out, there are Japanese creatures called "Moguri" that are half bat, half mole...

How NON awe-inspiring...
