Candle making question

What type of wicking do you use for beeswax candles. I've got braided cotton and zinc cored wicking. Most of my candles are soy wax but I want to make some hand dipped tapers out of the beeswax. Thanks

I use #2 for most of my candles, except things larger than 4 inches,, I use a larger size. I dont like the metal cored wicks,, its puts the metals, into the air, and you breath them in. The chineese use lead in their wicks,, and thats not good,, especially if you have kids in the house

Stan. . .. and. . ..

What is the difference in beeswax candles and other candles relation to burn/brightness/smoking, or whatever the criteria for candles might be?

beeswax, since it isnt made form oil,, doenst smoke nearly as much,,, though it can, if the wick isnt trimed, or there isnt enough air. BEeswax also melts at a higher temp so,,, it may smoke a bit at first lighting, or take longer to light.( a matter of a couple of seconds.) Brightness?? depends on the size of the candle, the size of the wick, ect. IN one catalogue,, I found a source of candles thta are supposed to be "smoke free" ,,,,, IM not sure how anything thta burns,, can be smoke free,,, has to have some waste product ( my theory)
