Emil Kraepelin (1856-1926) was actually a psychiatrist, though he took psychology courses with Wundt at Leipzig (M.D., 1878). He held positions at Munich, Leipzig, Tartu, and Heidelberg. He is known for having applied Wundt's experimental techniques to psychiatric situations, noting that mental associations produced under the influence of alcohol or fatique are similar to those od psychotics. He was a strong believer in the organic origins of psychiatric disorders. He developed the modern meaning of the terms "manic-depressive psychosis" and "paranoia." He is sometimes called the "father" of modern psychiatry.

For more information you may want ot look at the Encyclopedia of Psychology or some similar source. Be a little wary of Psychology Today. It is not a scholarly journal, but a "pop" magazine.
