Hornady TAP AMMO

Hey all, I bought a Steyr SBS Tactical HB and using the Hornady TAP Ammo. Anyone else out ther using this Ammo/Rifle combo or any of the two and getting good results? Also tried Fed GM and Win silver tips. The rifle didn't like these too well. What is your impression of the TAP Ammo?

I also have the Steyr SBS Tactical HB.I put a Springfield Armory Rangefinding scope on it and it shoots the 110 grain TAP ammo into .367 groups with regularity.Steyr is a very impressive gun.

Well I don't know about you guys but from personal experience in 600m competition shooting, I have found the TAP to be a little to unstable for my standards. I shoot a Rem 700 VLS and have found the Federal Golds to shoot better out at farther ranges. But if you're intrested in a bullet w/ excellent acurracy out to 400m for game hunting (i.e. deer, pronghorn antelope, or other medium sized game) I shoot only the TAP's. They have quite a bit of knock down power w/ very reliable accuacy, all in all, an awesome hunting round; in my opinion, the best. But they are not a cometition bullet where millimeters count the most.

Hey there, I use this ammo in my Rem 700 PSS the 168gr bthp..I can get sub .5" groups at 200 yards farely regulary with this ammo..I like it very much..The Fed GM and the Win silvertips grouped poorly with my rifle, but the Hornady TAP loads seemed to be the ticket..The only other factory ammo that I got decent groups with was Remington Premier Ballistic Tip 165 and Cor-Bon 110gr frangible..The Cor-bon ammo grouped 1/2" low and right from the Hornady with no scope corrections at 200 yrds, not to shabby either..Hope that helps a little..Matt
