Looks as if Kyle is going to bring some nice rain

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News - Homefront Preparations : One Thread

Don't know if y'all have been keeping up with it, but Kyle, now a tropical depression, decided to head for shore tonight and is bringing rain to northern Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. Apparently, he's moving relatively slowly and will head up the east coast so should dump nice amounts of rain for us--we're still in an extreme drought situation up here.

Have you been using your rain stick?

-- Anonymous, October 11, 2002

Yes, in fact I think I may have slipped over into abuse.

Unfortunately, Sweetie is forbidden to come home tonight. Heavy rain and darkness for five hours are Not A Good Thing.

Tropical Depression `Kyle' has at last made its mind to miss the Bahamas Islands but leaves an impressive sunset in its wake. Taken at 6.50pm near Lyford Cay New Providence looking in direction of Bimini and Florida. One of this mornings broadcasters informed us that Isidore was actually a hymocane, not a hurricane. Ditto Kyle a week ago.

Well, hymoshocked!

I wonder if abusing your stick will make you go blind? LOL

Enjoy the rain. Hope it doesn't become a deluge.

Harrumph! You could have thanked me for the opening. It was big enough to drive a truck through.

It was a deluge and that creek we drove over at the golf course overran its banks and flooded the greens. It was nuts reporting on traffic this morning. I lost count of the number of vehicles that went off the road and into ditches and woods. Some trees came down and took down power lines with them, blocking roads and knocking out electricity, cable and phone (not us, thank goodness). Then there were stalled vehicles. People just will not listen when they are told not to drive on flooded roads. Sheesh!!!

Down here we have people that only drive on flooded roads. it's the only way they can change their oil.

glad you survived.

3 day weekend, 1 tropical storm. All I got out of it was 1 inch of rain, and all I was able to do outside was finish mowing the lawn. (But inside the house is sparkling!)

Now we have #14, soon to be Marco?

Meanwhile, it is just beautiful outside. sunny, clear skies, no wind.

And I have gotten 3.5 hours of sleep before the alarm tech showed up to do the keypad replacement. now it sounds like a cheap souvinir shop when you open the door.

Barefoot, that made no sense. Please go back to bed until you can be coherent. LOL
