Clearing fence rows?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Style Homesteading : One Thread

Another inquiry while I'm here.

I've let a fence row grow up in fescue. I mowed as close as possible, and weed whipped...but that wasn't terribly effective. I need to run hot wire as close to the ground as possible. I don't use Roundup or the like. I wondered if anyone knows any tricks? Maybe vinegar...?

I don't know??? Wishful thinking here I'm sure, but thought it was worth a shot.

Hmmmm, that's a thought.....burning the line.

What's a roofing torch? What would a torch be used in roofing for? I'm assuming it's just a large blow torch type thing......?

large head on it,, about 5 inches Diameter. Mine has a 4 foot pole, and it connects to a 25 gal tank,, easy enough to carry around. I also use it to destroy wasp/hornet nests, in the gorund or the trees
