Quality Control for Resistance Welding

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Resistance Welding : One Thread

What characteristics in a resistance-welded product can be controlled to know the operation was OK, what kind of quality control can be applied on the product (not process parameters of the welding machine).

Victor- Three parameters can be measured to ensure successful welds. Current, Voltage and Displacement. Where current is measured flowing through the secondary, voltage is measured at or as close to the welding tips as possible, and displacement is the actual "set down" of the weld. With tight parameters around these three things, you can get extrememly good process control, and good welds. For more information on weld monitoring/spc please visit www.miyachi1.com
