Thanks, Jay; I already read that post, but wonder why you posted it here? If it's true that China is the brains behind the Sept 11 attacks, why is Bush not threatening to attack China, rather than Iraq, and everywhere else in the world?

Thanks, Jay; hadn't read it......interesting stuff that; I'll hafta see else I can dig up on the subject.

I am guessin that Jay doesn't really care one way or the other who are attacking, as long as we hurry up and bring on some a that war!!

Well, yeah, Earthmama, there's that... I guess Jay did make that pretty clear.

Very simple. China is our new opponent in cold war chess, the regime countries are simply pawns to be used and won or lost by the players. We will sort through the pawns while ultimately going for the opposing chessmaster. We lucked out with the USSR as economic situations and internal strife hastened their collapse when combined with the military actions into which our presidents sent covert operations advisors.

What a horrible thought...life is just one big "chess" game!! I don't think much about MY future life here on planet Earth (mine has been great), but I sure want my granddaughter's life to be much more than a chess game!!!! Who will we pass on our homesteading skills to :-(???

Joj, The link was not placed here for your benefit, but rather for those still among the group that havent gone so far to the left or right as to lose the ability of deductive processing. This link is not reflective of my personal views , it is merely a view of potential threats that exist to the American culture which has fostered our varied political orientations. BTW, have you ever considered that all of those nations which you put so high in your value structure do not allow the freedom of exchange or political belief we enjoy?

Marcia, Thats what global politics amounts to since we first used the "bomb". Look on the bright side, we have been lucky enough to have presidents in office who have always had skill at playing the tournement game. Sometimes they shmooze, sometimes they rattle sabres, sometimes they acted like nothing was amiss. Yet they all had at least covert operatives ensuring that we could all pursue the lifestyles we chose. Thats why those people abroad that everyone is so concerned about would gladly slit our throats. They would like to live within our safe little fishbowl here.

Jay, if I had any respect for you at all, I'd ask you, "And what countries would that be, in your oh so knowing opinion?"

But I won't, so don't bother.

Jay, could you explain to me this statement, please?

"Thats why those people abroad that everyone is so concerned about would gladly slit our throats. They would like to live within our safe little fishbowl here."

Wouldn't an environment which includes slitting peoples' throats be anything *but* a safe little fishbowl?

I don't get it.

EM, You never will. You are too far to the left to choose to.

Jay, if I didnt choose to understand you, I would have had no reason to ask. I think you can do better than that.
