Stop Light

Does anybody know why our stoplight at Tschiffely Sq. and Rt. 28 is turned off? If I lived on Lake Street, I wouldn't be too happy about this. People will use Lake St. to get to Rt. 28. Turning left on Rt. 28 without the benefit of a light can be very exciting.

I foward this to Dave Humpton. Bill Edens

SHA called back- they indicated that the signal cabinet needs to be raised before the signal can be turned back on. They are indicating that this will take 2 to 3 days to complete , however every one is aware of the importance of getting this light back on ASAP.

>>> Ollie Mumpower 09/30/2002 8:47:40 AM >>> Water and mud got into the signal cabinet disabling the traffic signal. since it could not be fixed right away temporary stop signs were placed on TSR to assist with traffic control. SHA is to get back with me this morning with a update of when the signal will be put back into operation.

>>> David B. Humpton 09/30/2002 8:20:12 AM >>> The traffic light is off and stop signs were installed at Tschiffeley Square Road and MD RT 28. Can you check on this. Is this temporary - I assume? Thanks Dave

Well! I guess it was too good to be true. Two or three days to repair the light at Tschiffely and Rt. 28 has turned into three weeks. The light is critical to traffic flow with no left turn lane from east bound 28. What's with the state highway department.
